My great-grandfather, Henry Austin McCracken, had a sister named Sarah Elizabeth McCracken, b. May 11, 1838. Their parents were William McCracken (b. Feb 19, 1793 Union District, South Carolina, d. May 18, 1847 Athens, Limestone Co., Alabama) and Margaret Wood Fox (b. Dec. 12, 1804 Knoxville, Knox Co., Tennessee, d. Jan 10, 1863 Columbus, Lowndes Co., Mississippi). Henry's and Sarah's brother's (Rufus Vernon McCracken) family is documented by the Family History Library Catalog as: McCracken family Bible [records, 1793-1908]. See FamilySearch.org. I am recently in touch with a McCracken family in Oregon doing the line of Henry's and Sarah's uncle, Nimrod McCracken (find many entries on this message board). I am working now on tracing Henry's line - I finally found him when I was 65 years old. He is buried in Friendship Cemetery, Lot 281, Columbus, Mississippi.
