Greetings, Susie!

Have you by chance seen the book "The Moving Appeal" by Barbara G. Ellis? She put together a whopper of a book on the life of John Reid McClanahan of Memphis newspaper fame. She documented a lot of info on his life, and thinks he might have been murdered! What's been going on with your life since we last wrote? Did John's grandfather, the one killed at Cowpens' battle, have a brother named James, as there are documents naming a James in deeds previous to 1800, which would be dates too early for Samuel's brother? I think that my DNA makes the case for another name variation of family besides those from Virginia, or another surname got into the tree mix somehow by 1805!
