My Christian Schaffer married a Mary Adelaide McCarthy (nee Morton) late in life in Manhattan and she was 30 years younger than him. They married in 1900 and Christian died in 1901. I was not able to trace Mary after his death on census but since she was the last person to be with him, I thought tracing her descendants might bring me to some of Christian's photos and other genealogical information.

I know very little about Mary other than she was born Mary Adelaide MORTON in abt. 1850 in Ireland and emigrated in 1851. She apparently first married a McCarthy and had some children prior to her marriage to Christian Schaffer. I am hoping to find some of her McCarthy descendants since she never had any children with Christian Schaffer because the marriage was so short. I do not know who her first husband was but she gave her parents as Michael Morton and Mary Kenance on her marriage cert to Christian.
