Hi I am tracing both sides of my family,my mother's maiden name was Joan MC Cambridge,her father John was born in New York,he was one of four brothers,his brothers names were Thomas,James and Hubert,there parents had emigrated to America from Scotland,although I informed by family that 3 of the children were born in New York,my Grandfather being one of them,anyhow they then went back to Belfast at a later date,where my Grandfather married my Grandmother Susan MC'DERMOT(nee O'Connor),where then went onto have 10children,one being my mother Joan.My Grandfather John was a University man,who went into the army and became a Regimental Sargent Major in the INISKILENS,that later became the Royal Iniskilens,he was a small arms expert!they are nicknamed the skins!!!,my mother married a british sailor during world war one called Norman Roy Basil Hiscock and moved to England in 1945,Pocklington which is my surname now ,is my married name and I have kept it since my divorce as I have two children,my son is AUTISTIC and I was wondering whether there is any record back in the family records of anyone who has a similar complaint,but its also very interesting to think that I have some american blood in me from way back!!,hopefully this information is helpful to you or anyone else researching the name of MC CAMBRIDGE....
