I am married to Chad McCaffery son of Dennis Richard McCaffery who served in Vietnam. His father was Richard McCaffery Jr (he had no middle name) and his father was Richard E McCaffery married to Margaret McCaffery I know they also had a son named Thomas. Richard E's father was Patrick. My husbands grandmother does not remember much about him but that he was totally Irish, lived in New York and was an Orphan. She can't remember the surname of the family who raised him. He married in New York but she can't remember his wife's name either. Because I don't know much about this Patrick I can't go much further which my Husbands family tree. I would love to know if he ever found out who his real parents were. He chose to keep his birth last name even after being adopted. I know he was short and when he got US I.D he marked down St Patricks day as his birth date since he didn't know his own. Since his first son Richard was born in 1901 I know he must have been born sometime in mid 1800's. Thanks!
