I am very interested to know more about my father's family background.
I was born in Widnes (12 Miles East of Liverpool) UK, on the River Mersey, in 1931.
My father was Peter McCaffery, and he was born in 2002.
I understand that his father was also born in UK (Liverpool area) but his Grandfather came from Ireland in the mid-19th century.
I now live in Virginia, USA
I have no wish to get involved in an expensive research programme, but am interested in information about my father's family background.
My mother was of English stock, and, to my knowledge, had no Irish connections.
