John W. McBee married Nancy Morris. Sometime after 1860, Nancy remarried and moved to Prairie County, Arkansas. With this marriage she brought two children, Robert McBee (my great grandfather), and Mary McBee. Robert stayed in Georgia and joined the 21st Georgia Infantry. I am trying to find out who was John W. McBee and what happened to him. Can anyone help me?

There is a John Wilson McBee in my line of the family. John W was the son of William B McBee and Mary W Cochran. The other siblings where George W, Margaret E, Martha, Mary, William Taylor, who was my Great Grandfather, Sarah, Nancy and Harriet. I don't have any info that they where ever in GA but they lived in Pairie County Ark. Don't know if this is the same John W. you are looking for. E-mail me if you think this is the same.

John Wilson McBee is my 2g Grandfather and the brother of William Taylor. His first wife was Lora Adaline Childers. His second was Nellie Jane Toler (my 2g grandmother) They Moved to Texas Prior to 1893. John Wilson is Buried at Throckmorton Cemetery, Throckmorton Co., TX

I am just starting to research the McBee's of Texas. My husband's family line has a Louise McBee b. 04-16-1869 in San Antonio, Texas who married a James Tatum. Louise's sibs were William, Marion, Dave, Charlie, and one sister. Are these related to your research?

Did Nancy Morris remarry Nathan Wanslee? I believe the surname Wauslie is not spelled correctly in that census record. If we are speaking of the same people, I would be really interested in knowing what the name of the father of Robert and Mary was!

In one of your posts you mentioned that Mary's grandfather Cochran was in the 1817 Cherokee roles. Could you elaborate on that info for me. It may be the same that I have, but I would love to hear what you have on the subject.

Several of us have been looking for years to make a connection; and now I seem to be finding hints of connections to Cherokee, Choctaw, and Chickasaw and maybe Tuscarora in several different familial lines. It is all very confusing to say the least. I have seen the record of John Cochrain registering for land on the 1817 citizenship treaty for life reservees. I have nothing else concrete. The problem I have in finding anything else is that many of the people signed up in their Indian name. It seems that most of them at this time also had an Americanized name by which they were known and recorded as in lots of the history and a connection between the two needs to be made.
