Thanks for the extra info. I hadn't realised your mother "got" Jean, as they say in NI. I was wondering who Helene was though, who did the post about Roy on this site. Is she a cousin on your father's side or is she related to Billy or Roy?

Also I can't remember if we discussed whether you knew any of your "ancient" relatives from The Rock. James McAuley, who farmed The Rock was the father of William (father of your grandfather James) and Matthew (the GP in Kircubbin). I haven't got the name of James's wife (who would be my wife's great grandmother). I think it may be Elizabeth or Eliza but don't know the surname. Unfortunately Drumgooland baptisms didn't record the mother's name (after all what have the mothers got to do with it??). Also I have all but one of the names of James's siblings - there was Matthew the minister; John, also a minister I believe in Millisle; Isabella, who was Rev Matthew's housekeeper; Nancy, who shared a house in Rathfriland with Isabella after Matthew died in 1895; Susannah, who married a man called McNeilly - a grocer in Belfast but may have been from Rathfriland, and one other sister. She married a man called Parkinson, but I don't know her Christian name. Would you or your mother know either of these names?
