Hello
Genealogy of Kerry has more holes than a Swiss cheese. Searching names MAYBERRY / MAYBURY, BOWEN, DUCKETT, BASTABLE.
I am looking for individuals pre- and post- AUGUSTUS MAYBERRY, ESQ who lived c1725. He was presumably the gggrandson of Robert Orpen and Lucy Chichester, although Burke's is decidedly vague on this.
He presumably had two daughters Mary Mayberry who married Thomas Duckett and Hannah Mayberry who married William Bowen (gggrandson of Robert Orpen and Lucy Chichester).
Who was the wife of Augustus Mayberry? Possibly a BASTABLE. Both Mary and Hannah's descendants have boys christened first name BASTABLE.
Who was the father of Augustus Mayberry? Burke is unclear. Says that grandfather is Richard Mayberry whom I have learned married Petra Duckett daughter of Samuel Duckett and Margaret Palmer.
Who was the mother of Augustus Mayberry? It is well known that the BOWENs and the MAYBERRYs were close families. As seen above William Bowen married Hannah Mayberry. I suspect that a daughter of MARGARET BOWEN married the father of Augustus Mayberry. Why? Margaret Bowen married Augustus Jandrum (or Gandrum), a French Huguenot. This name Augustus was otherwise unfamiliar in Kerry. However one of the daughters of Augustus Jandrum and Margaret Bowen called Margaret Jandrum has a spouse in Burke's listed as Mr Husband. If this Mr "Husband" is actually Mr Mayberry, father of Augustus Mayberry, then it would fit quite nicely.
What I find surprising is that there is an almost total lack of information on the Mayberry family of Kenmare on the Internet. There is also very little on the families of BOWEN, DUCKETT and BASTABLE.
Whatever detailed information people can provide would be warmly appreciated.
Regards
