I am interested in the burial place of Louisa Maxson that married Exum Saint.
Louisa was the daughter of William Maxson, b. 1806, d. 1887, Muscatine Co., IA and Deliah Bowland, b. d. 1818, d. 1850, Cedar Co., IA.
I have Exum's Civil War pension file that includes Louisa's widow's pension paper. Louisa's daughter, Edna Pendleton made an application for reimbursement for expenses of Louisa's last illness before she died Sept. 4, 1933 at Venice, CA. There is an expense item for an undertaker but no place of burial.
I've search just about everywhere for the burial place, but wonder if she cremated? Her daughter Edna Pendleton, I think, was a Christian Scientist after she married Edwin Pendleton. The application or reimbursement has a expense for a Christian Science Practitioner as well as for a medical doctor.
So my question is, do Christian Scientists practice cremation exclusively or selectively like members of other Protestant denominations?
I have Find a Grave memorial for William Maxson and Deliliah Bowland and would like to make links to a memorial for Louisa Maxson Saint. Any help would be appreciated.
