They then lived in Jackson for 34 years where Karl was manager of the Cussins & Fearn store and then owned and operated a retail floor covering business. They moved to Florida in 1994. Karl served in the Navy during World War II as a signalman aboard the LSMR 197 in the South Pacific. He was an avid shuffleboard player, having achieved association pro status and participated in many tournaments throughout Florida and Ohio during summers.

Calling hours beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 12, at the Given-Dawson Funeral Home, Coshocton, will precede a service there at 1:00 p.m. by Karl's great-nephew, Reverend Michael L. Denman.
