I believe my great grandfather Alexander Marquis was in Lawrence MA in the 1870 census. If it is the correct Alexander Marquis his father was Lange Marquis. I believe the family immigrated from PEI between 1850 and 1870 to Lawrence. My great grandfather married Emma Webster in 1971 in Haverhill and they moved to Texas in 1879 for him to be a minister in a new Christian Church. Do you know anything about this family? I am trying to confirm that the Alexander on the census is my great grandfather and if so, any additional information going back in time.
