Faye Louise (MANSFIELD) (ATKINSON) WOLF

Faye Louise (Mansfield) Wolf, 86, of Leesberg, Fl. died from complications following hip surgery on October 26, 2013. Faye was born to the late Margaret Ethel Oyler and Elmer Harry Mansfield on Feb. 1, 1928 in Fostoria, Ohio. Faye graduated from Fostoria High School in 1947 and attended Ohio State University. She married the late Byron L Atkinson (1927 - 1975) in 1949, in Fostoria. In 1955 they moved to Chicago where they lived on the North side until 1970, when they relocated to Fox Lake, Il.

Faye was always employed working at various jobs, such as seamstress at the Arrow Shirt Company, a secretary at Hamilton Glass and later was an executive secretary at Baxter Labs in Deerfield, Il. She married Harlan Keith Wolf in 1982 in Waukegan Il.. They lived in Fox Lake, Il Then at Great Lakes Naval Station for a short time before moving to Norfolk, Virginia,which was Keith's next duty station. Upon Keith's retirement from the Navy they moved to Lake Pannasofkee, Fl.. Faye owned and operated the Lake Pannasofkee Mobile Home Motel for 19 years.

Faye is survived by her 4 children: Byron L. Atkinson Jr (Debbie) of Lake Zurich, Il; Barbara Caudillo(Ron) of San Diego, Ca; Beverly Anderson (Paul) of Spring Grove, Il; and Karen Stevens of Lake Pannasofkee, Fl. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Devin (Heather)Atkinson. Streamwood, Il.; Scott Atkinson of San Diego, Ca; Tiffany (Nate) Monahan, Salem, Oregon; Nick; Jessica, Dan and Chris Anderson of Spring Grove, Il.; Joshua Stevens of Lake Pannasofkee and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, James Mansfield of Bowling Green Oh and her husband, Keith.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Alyce Florea.

Faye was a hardworking, determined and courageous woman. She faced and overcame many obstacles in her life. Family was the most important thing to her and she was loyal to a fault. She was always willing to help others, even when it meant that she, herself, would suffer. She always looked for the good in people.

She will truly be missed and will always be in our hearts.

A caring cremation has taken place, as she requested.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, April 12th at the Fostoria Country Club, 747 Independence Ave at 1:00 pm.
