This has been years since your post but was his daughter Catherine Malone Karns who married Vern Karns and had Harry and Florence? If so they are my grandparents. I've been trying to research a lot lately since the Karns side of the family is wearing thin and I've never mer any of my Malone family. Hoping for a response!
