Attempted Contact:
I first contacted Joseph Dunn on Thursday, October 14, 1999: Nora is still alive. "We are related to Joe Maher (1933-1998), the actor he was County Mayo or County Claire. I'm not a Maher. I don't give out private information, I'm the last Maher. Nora had surgery today to remove her cataracts. Why would I be interested in information on the Mahers? Why would Nora want to hear family stories, she knows them all already. Why would she want pictures of the family? There is no one to pass them on to. Look for the guy in Ireland, thats where the information you want is. I don't like the idea that you have computers and can look up personal information. I can't give you the information about when family members died because that's personal information."

I called the number again on Thursday, October 19, 1999 and a woman answered the phone: "Nora can't come to the phone, she is recovering. Yes, I'm a family member. I can't hear you. [hang up]"

I next spoke with Joseph Dunn on March 07, 2005 at 12:30 pm. Joseph is married to Raquel. He again was paranoid about telling me family information. He said: "Why would she have photographs. Who would she have photographs of?". I asked him about Nora's siblings and he responded "How would I know about them. I wasn't born back then, some guy who died in WWI, how would I know about him?". I thanked him, said goodbye and hung up. He was her gatekeeper in life and now in death he was making sure his paranoia blocked me from access to the family.

Death:
She died in 2005 and was last living at 138 Erie Street, Jersey City, New Jersey, 07302-1755.
