I have some information on your particular family as I spent a little time researching in Washington Co., NE a few years back.

From the best that I can tell, Ralph McGill died in Walworth Co., WIsconsin in 1889 where he resided from the 1840s. I have some confusion on his date of death from the newspaper sources I have found (1893 being another possibility). I will need to check my file for hard copies. As his wife predeceased him by at least 5 years, he probably died in the home of one of his children.

Ralph's wife Eunice Van Valin was the sister of my ggg-grandfather.
