Amy, tell us more. When and where was your dad born, what was his name, who were his parents? Were they also born in Arkansas? If so, when and where?

When researching your family, always start with yourself, and work backwards. Gather your own documents (birth, school, military, marriage, etc.), and then start on your parents, and then their parents. Find them in the Census records, talk to your relatives, look for old letters and Bible records. There is lots to find, and the more you tell us, the more likely you are to find a cousin or two here.

Hello, I'm doing research for a friend, he was adopted at 1yr. of age in 1965. He was born in Camden Arkansas. Listed as "Baby Boy Clayborn". He was told his father was James C. Magby and his mother was Lucille Clayborn. He was born 6/7/65. Any info. would be wonderful. Thanks

There is a James Magby still living in Camden AR, according to Pipl.com. Lucille Clayborn is a bit more difficult, because she could have married and changed her surname. There is one Lucille Clayborn in the Social Security Death Index ( http://ssdi.rootsweb.com ) but she's much too old to be your friend's mother (born 1911). Have you gone to the courthouse and searched for the marriage record for Lucille?

I have a Roy Clinton Magby b. 1909 in ARkansas in my tree, who died in Camden, ARkansas. Camden is a VERY small town. He was the son of Willie Carol Magby. I have a copy of my great grandmother's bible page with William (Willie) Magby's birth. I also have a great uncle (Magby) still living. He is 87 and remembers this family well. They were his 1st cousins. I don't know if Roy Clinton could possibly be the father of who you're looking for.

Amy, If your Magby's are from Arkansas- They are related to me. The Magby's came to Arkansas from Alabama before the 1850 census. The settled in 3 counties in sw Arkansas.
