Looking for someone with connections to William
MacLean (b. 1859 in Bellie,
Moray to John
MacLean, contractor, and Jessie Garvock - according to the information on his marriage registration). William married Elizabeth B. Robertson on 6 September 1889 in Glenmuick, Aberdeen. At the time of his marriage, William's occupation is listed as teacher - public school. His usual address is listed as New Byth.
A search of the IGI for children born to John
MacLean and Jessie Garvock turns up three - John, b. 1860, James, b. 1855, and Euphemia, born 1859 (is it possible that William and Euphemia were twins? Or that William didn't know what year he was born?)
The IGI also lists children born to John
MacLean and Janet
Garvick as William, born in 1859, Anne, born in 1865, and Margaret, born in 1867. And then there's the children born to John
MacLean and Janet Garvock - John, born in 1860, who appears to be the same John born to John
MacLean and JESSIE Garvock, and another son, Alexander, born in 1863.
Yes, I know that Janet
Garvick, Janet Garvock, and Jessie Garvock are most likely the same person, given the Scottish habit of nicknaming Janets as Jessies, but these people are giving me a headache!
