Sorry, but no I haven't heard of the Netherlands being mentioned on my side of the Mackey Family. I was told that my John Henry Mackey was born in Hanover, Germany. I can't find anything either. But like I said before, when they left Germany they traveled from Germany to England then to America. Some ships that traveled here changed their names so that they could dock at the Ports here in America. What the name of the ships that they boarded there, from Germany to England or England to America, I do not know. I did, with the help of a person at the Jackson County Genealogy Society, found where they arrived and passed thru Castle Garden on 19 Sep 1855 before going to Cincinnati then crossing into Indiana. At one time I found information in Lawrenceburg Library about some Macke's that passed thru or lived there. As a matter-of-fact that area was part of Cincinnati, OH in 1850 thru abt. 1900, I think. You will have to look at a Plat Book on the different States to verify for the years that the counties changed and the size of the States at that time.
