Looking for family history leads for my ancestors of the MacDonald (bain MacDhomhnuill) clan. Reportedly, my g-g-grandparent Iain Ruadh (John) BEATON and his wife Sara MacDONALD were of this clan. Not sure if they were born or married in Scotland or N.S. Both would have been born around 1825-30. Sara's father's name was Fionnladh.

Iain/John and Sara were married abt.1855-60. They had a daughter, my g-grandmother, Mary Jane, b. abt 1863 in Inverness, N.S. She married Ulysses GILDERSLEEVE in 1900 in Greenwood, B.C. A few years later, Ulysses died in B.C., and Mary Jane brought up their two children by herself: James Beaton, b.1901, and George, b.1902, both in B.C. Mary Jane and her sons returned to N.S., where she is buried. These MacDonalds were probably from Antigonish or Pictou Cos.

Want to fill in their ancestry. Will trade information, if possible.
