Classification: Query
Surnames: Bean, Miller, McBean, MacBean
My grandmother was a Lena Bean (b.1885:d.1943). Census records indicate she was born in OH (possibly around the Ashtabula County area). I believe her fathers name was Frank and her mothers name was Rebecca (sorry, no maiden name).
She married my grandfather Lee Miller, in Meadville, PA, in 1906, and spent the remainder of her life in Crawford Co, PA.
Taking a long shot, my cardiologist is a Dr Louis Chapman Bean. When I mentioned the above facts about my grandmother and asked if he had any ties to Ohio, he indicated that his father was a doctor in that area. He also indicated that he had attended a family reunion in Michigan and that everyone was in kilts. He indicated that his ancestors migrated from Scotland and that the original name was McBean/MacBean.
So, theres a chance here that him and I may be related. (Id hate to figure the odds on that!)
Does anyone out there have any ties/information of the Bean/McBean/MacBean surnames in Ohio back in the late 1880s?
Would appreciate hearing from you. My e-mail address is lmiller35@qwest.net.
