Please take a look at the following web site...if you can connect to the
Lynde mentioned there, then we are connected.
http://wc.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=:225877...The referenced Lucy
Lynde is my 7xggm...her daughter
Polly [Mary]
Smith,
md Solomon
Thompson, of
Hellier, PEC. Their children removed to
Beaverton,
Murray Cty., Niagara Peninsula. Her husband, Nathaniel
Smith would be my 7xggf... I have no information on the
Smith line past
Nathanial, and only what is available at this site on Lucy.
I know that there is a connection, because of the Colonial naming
pattern, and the repeated names among children and grandchildren.
Research has shown that a
Lynde, who possibly may have been closely
related to Lucy
Lynde, lived in the area of
Whitby, Ontario, Canada. I
suspect it to be a very close relative who convinced Solomon and
Polly to remove from French
Creek area of NYS and take up farming in
Prince Edward County, of Ontario, just south of
Whitby. It is suspected that
they lived in the French
Creek area of a few years following the
revolution. Upon his discharge, about 1797-8, Solomon and
Polly packed
up and left Brimfield,
MA, and headed west. Then they removed to a lot
in
Prince Edward County, Ontario, Canada.
A brief summary of my
Thompson family connection is to be found at this
URL [note no genealogy is there, just a summary of the who's and
where's].
http://www.genealogy.com/users/r/m/x/B1caez01-Rmxuzz37/?Welc...I am a direct blood descendant of Solomon and
Polly Smith-Lynde
Thompson, stretching back to the era of the
Winthrop Fleet, landing in
or around
Salem, in or about 1632-ish. The Thompsons have been fully
researched. I now would like to do my
Lynde and
Smith sides of the family.
So, I am desperate to contact any "relations" of both these
Lynde and
Smith lines. Lucy may have been the ward of Samuel
Lynde rather than a
natural child, but still a
Lynde, as intimated in some of Ruth Allaire's
reporting...this is most likely the reason for the names
Lynd/Lynde/Lyndes/ and
Lund are involved with her name.
If you are connected please contact me directly, not on line. I share
info one-on-one only.
1. If you know of any other
Lynde researchers of the line below, please let me know and forward them a copy of this letter.
2. If you have the addresses of those on rootsweb whose old address no longer works, but for whom you have a new address, would you please forward this note to them, if you have that new address...
4. If you know of the contact person's details, re: the
Lynde book, please forward this note to them, and their contact particulars back to me.
To repeat: please visit my connection at: Ruth Allaire's site: see entry below...
