In three years, it took me so many hours to piece together the immigration of my Irish Lynch ancestors. Lynch is such a common name. But after carefully matching dates, names and the counties that I knew they originated from. This is what I found on my ancestors. (who were all potatoe famine immigrants).
James Lynch listed as property owner 1848, Mallow Parish, Cork, Ballylongford. Immigrated to the US in 1954. The ship was the Great Western, manifest ID number 900653, port of Embarkation: LIverpool, date May 6, 1854. Port of Debarkation: New York, Purpose for Travel: Staying in the USA, but not a citizen of USA. Mode of travel: Steerage.
With him were his wife Elizabeth Lynch born in 1830, their children listed with them on the ship were: James (my gg)Catherine, Ellen, Terrance and Connor. There is also listed two Male lynchs with no ages and an unknown Lynch. I know that they evenutally settled in Brooklyn, NY. I'm pretty sure that Terrance Lynch became a roofer.
