I'm helping a friend track her Lyddy ancestry, and have, thus far, found mostly a Bridgeport, CT link, through a Rhoderick/Rody/Roger Lyddy, who arrived in US in 1848, along with a brother (I believe) named John. There was an ad in a Boston paper where a John Horan was seeking them, listing himself as their brother-in-law. It was fairly specific on where they'd come from in County Clare, though the spellings or names have changed over the years, it narrowed it down a little.
Interested in anyone connected to this line. Roger/Rody/whatever, married Julia, prob. in Ireland, but all children found so far were born in CT, starting early 1850s. Bridgeport seems to be where they had finally settled by 1860, though the family is NOT found in 1870 Census records.
