My 2nd great grandmother was Tero Estelle Licette. She married William Henry Cherry in Bibb Co., GA. I have seen the spelling of this name in various forms. But my great great grandmother spelled it Licette.
This branch of Licette's were located in the Lee Co., Ga area before they moved to Macon, Bibb Co., GA. I have Tero's parents:
Hartwell Licette and Sarah A. Parnell.
Hartwell served in the Civil War. I have his records (his name was spelled Licet). But I lose track of him afterwards. He had to have been back to Lee County Ga as Sarah had 2 more children after the war ended. But I cannot find any record of him. When Sarah's son William Pinkney 'Pink' Licette moved his family to Macon, GA, his father was not with them. Pink stay in Lee Co., Ga for awhile but then moved to Macon, GA and later to Alabama.
Sarah A. Parnell Licette applied and was granted a Indigent Widow's Pension in 1904.
I believe that Hartwell's father was a William Licette, b. 1809. I also believe that he had a brother named Samuel Licette. They both served in the same company during the Civil War.
If anyone has more information on this branch I can be email directly at
tomsgaliam@yahoo.comI will be willing to share all that I have on this family.
Thank you,
Dawn
