I suspect my gggrandfather Ambrose Lyall and his brother William were brothers to your John Lyall. Ambrose and William were born in Ashe county about 1823 and 1830, respectively. They both lived in Cainesville, Missouri for a time before moving on to California and later Arizona. Many of their children and grandchildren's names are the same as your list. I believe their father's name was either John or Berry but I don't know for sure. Both names appear in early Ashe county census.

The names you mentioned in your posting are names that I have run across in my research. I am looking for information about Hamilton Lyall, William Lyall, Thomas Lyall, and then Aaron Lyall. Please respond if you could help me.

I am also looking for information on Aaron Lyall. If we are looking for the same Aaron, I was informed that he was born in 1730. Also, he married Sarah OLDHAM. I too have found a Hamilton Lyall (1857-1916) in my research. He was the brother to my gg-grandfather Alex Lyall. He was married to Louisa _______ and they had five children (Patton, Sarah Ann, Meredith, Aaron, Mike). I hope we can help each other.

This is the same Aaron. I am very excited to hear from you.
Mike Lyall is my grandfather and is the son of Patton Lyall.
Hamilton is Patton's father. I have researched to 1730 to
Aaron Lyall, this is as far as I have gotten.
Please reply. Jackie

I believe William Lyall and Mary to be the parents of Aaron Lyall. Hamilton Lyall was born in 1835 with a baby brother of Alex. Hamilton was first married to Louisa with 2 children. He then married Bethnay and had 3 children.
Aaron Lyall married Sarah Oldhan in 1760. I thought that Hamilton, Rachel, Matthew, Elisa, Ambroise, Ellen, Nancy, and Alex Lyall were all children to William and Sarah Lyall. Also, William's father was Thomas Lyall who was a brother to a Robert, David, and Sally Lyall.

Hamilton Lyall was my great great grandfather. Could you please tell me when and where he died. I couldn't trace him after Dickenson Co., Va.

The children listed for Hamilton were not by his second wife Louisa. He was married to Marthena Bethany Patrick from Ashe County first. Louisa and Hamilton didn't have any children.
