This family was originally Sephardic Jews. This means the Jewish people that moved to Spain, Portugal area of Europe. The father of our family was Jacob De Louzada whose tombstone is in NY,NY dying in 1729. He settled in London for a time and was married with Jewish rites there. He was a wealthy merchant dealing in chocolate. His children settled in Somerset Co. NJ. This family has alot written on it- The name changed to several variations-Luzader, Luzadder, Lousada, Lewsader, Lousatta and Lewsadder. The family moved from NY, to NJ, then some to PA, and WV/VA then on to Ohio and Indiana. But with patience they all trace back to Jacob and his sons Aaron and Moses.
