Book written on our family:

The Solomons (The genealogical tree and a Short of History of The Solomon Family in South Africa)

Written by Richard Allan Solomon

Published by the Natal Witness Printing and Publishing Company 244 Longmarket Street Pietermaritzburg. (1987-1988)

Saul Solomon was a lawyer I think who defended black people in Parliament. They were of Jewish Origin but were not practising re ally and some even became Anglican Ministers (one on St Helena) The original Solomon was left at St Helena because he was ill and was expected to die but did not. So there is much history here.

PS There was Daisy who was a suffragette in England for a while and also black sash in South Africa defending rights of women and especially black folk as well. Her dad was Saul Solomon. This family was well known for uplifting the community and standing for right of down trodden.

I am looking for the above mentioned book as I dont know where to find it.
Would also appreciate other information concerning this family as they are mine ... I am Carol Luyt (nee Solomon)
