I am trying to find my grandmother's family roots. Her name was Margarite Luscher. Her great grandfather was Swiss and worked in a Cheese Factory and the Morgan Steamlines. They came to US and settled in Bayonne NJ where a son Jake was born. The children of Mr and Mrs Luscher were Charlie, Mary, Johnny, Sophie, Maggie, Margarite, and Jake. The family became affiliated with the railroad and migrated to the South - either to Alabama and then to Louisiana.
Margarite married a Jim Snow (Alabama Coushatta Indian) and then Lucian/Lucien Chopin. They had Claude, Victor, Sidney Louis, Vivian, and Robert. Chopin died in 1914, Margarite then married Mr Glen Able in 1917, and he died three months later. She then married William Henry in 1919. (I think the marriages were either in Lafayette or in Beaumont, Texas area. She died in 1921. Anyone know anything about the Luscher's I would appreicate information.
