Hi there!
Well, I asked the fine folks at RootsWeb to set up this message board; so now that it's here, I figured I'd give everyone a proper welcome...
The Lupear family is an American branch of the Romanian "Lupea" family. All of the Lupears in the USA can trace their ancestry to a single family that emigrated here over a ten year period, from about 1903-1913. They initially settled in Indianapolis, then later branched out into Michigan, California and Texas.
My grandmother was Marie Elizabeth Lupear (b.12 Mar 1917), d/o George and Elizabeth (Campeanu) Lupear. George and his brother Alex were the first to arrive in the US, followed by their siblings: Sam, John, Nick, Ana and Marie, as well as their mother, Ana (Buhoi) Lupear. The father stayed behind, and is presumed to have died in Romania.
Any members of the Lupear family are encouraged to post, even if just to say "Hi!" and tell us where you fit in. Additionally, any members of the Romanian Lupea family with ties to Miercurea-Sibiului (Transylvania) or possibly Luica-Ilfov (Wallachia) would be most welcome as well.
