Obituary of Mrs. D.L. Hare
Fanny Lunger was born in Lee county, Pa., about the year 1830, and was married to Peter Grantier at her father's home in Richland county, Ohio, in 1856. To this union was born one son, Albert, who still survives her. She was married to D.L. Hare in the fall of 1899. Mr. Hare preceded her in death two weeks and a few hours.
Mrs. Hare was a practical Christian, having united with the Baptist church at Rock Island, Ill., in 1882. She later became a member of the Christian Adventist church of Glasco, Kansas. She died at the home of W. B. Hare, Dec. 20, at 8:30 a.m. Funeral services were conducted in the M.E. church in Glasco by the pastor, Rev. J.T. Bates, on Tuesday Dec. 22 at eleven o'clock a.m. Interment was made in Glasco cemetery.
In the passing away of Mr. and Mrs. D.L. Hare thus within a few days of each other, the community loses two more of its old settlers. Mr. Hare came to the Solomon Valley in the early times, when conveniences were not near so plentiful as now, and helped life this country out of the wilderness to its present stage of cultivation among the foremost states of the union. His children who survive are among our foremost citizens, and the sympathy of the community goes out to them in this bereavement.
