There doesn't appear to be a relationship. A few other apparently nonrelated people are buried there and the best guess the graves were provided as a goodwill gesture by Jeremiah (Jerry) Baker, Jr. He owned the land and I assume it remained in the family for several decades later. Jerry Jr. was one of my gg grandfather's brothers.

A 2000 inventory of headstones notes a broken one for Julia was still visible. A later inventory doesn't mention that. Many, many headstones are broken off or exist as mere stubs. Cemetery photography was done a few years ago. Go to Yahoo search and type in Baker Cemetery Canisteo NY. The fourth site listed reads "Baker's Gulch Cemetery."

The 1870 census lists Julia A. "Lumbert" as a farmer living with children Julia, 24, and Lorin M., 19. Her husband apparently had died and most likely is in the Baker Cemetery.
