I believe that my grandmother, Jean Rosser Peyton was a friend of Mr. Lum's. She and her children used to go to his cabin at Lake Nebagamon in Wisconsin, leaving her husband at home in Duluth. She was significantly younger than he. I believe he was a friend of her father's, Dr. John Carper Rosser, who lived in Brainerd for many years. I have tried to find more information about Mr. Lum. I can't find anything that indicates he had children. I have wondered about the nature of his relationship with my grandmother. When I was growing up my mother would always say, "Oh, that Mr. Lum" and shake her head affectionately. I wish I'd thought to ask her what she meant!
