I recently found a photo of an old envelope that Mrs. William (Emma) LUEBBERS of Baltimore, Maryland sent to Schwabisch Hall, Germany in 1947. You can see the envelope on

I do not believe that Schwabisch Hall is the birthplace of either William or Emma LUEBBERS, but I expect that the person who received the envelope is part of their family. I am interested if this envelope is helpful to someone in their genealogical research. The reason I have a photo of the envelope is because of my interest in using old envelopes and postcards in genealogical research. I have an article in the spring 2009 issue of New England Ancestors entitled Philatelic Genealogy and have started the philgen website. I do not know if the letter that was in the envelope still exists.
