Sigled? Is that a typo? I see we have coresponded before.
My Almyron was born in Livingston co NY in about 1821. He was married in 1844 to Nancy Dye in Wyandot co OH after which he moved to Mercer co PA. Both Joseph and Almyron left about 1854 with Almyron going to Barry co MI. There was a David Luce who died in Mercer co PA in 1852. Almyron named his next son David who was born in MI 1855. Nothing conclusive here just interesting.

But we think he married a Nellie in 1890 and they had a child, a girl, but no name was found. Both the mother and child died about 3 years later. I don't know if this is our Willard or not, so it could be either one. No one is alive any longer to ask.

Re: Luce Family in MI

Just found your posting today. I am a descendant of the Luce family of New York; several family members moved to Michigan and at least two lived in Lenawee County. Cornelius Luce was my 7th great-grandfather. He married twice. His first wife was Olive Foster, and they had six children: Vinal, born 1782; Betsey (my 6th great), born 1785; Jane, born 1788; Sophie, born 1789; William Foster, born 1794; and John Manley, born 1796. He married (2) Sophia Smead, and they had eight children: William Pitt, born 1797; Laura, born 1800; Cora E., born 1803; Julia E., born 1804; Eliza A., born 1806; Cornelius FitzEdward, born 1808; Henry Talmadge, born 1811; and Alonzo D., born 1812. Cornelius FitzEdward lived in Lenawee County Michigan but died in Jackson County; his brother Henry also lived in Lenawee County and died in Tecumsah, Lenawee County, in 1887. I have much more information if this is the family you are looking for.

I also forgot to mention this...they have a Luce Reunion every September. This year it is the last Saturday of the month. It is always held in the old Luce Cemetary in Houston Co.
I will be taking some pictures of the old graves, and asking more questions when we go and will be happy to share what I learn and pictures too.
For some reason I had trouble sending you email R.E.Lee. If you are interested in any of this info, you can email me at grannylu@karnesec.net
K.Elaine

Luce Family, Dukes County, MA

I am researching Seth Luce, b. 11 Oct. 1752 in Tisbury, MA, d. 1833, Union, ME. I have found several other trees which show him as the son of Joseph Luce (1726-1808) and Jedidah Claghorn (1727-1799), which was the Ancestry.com hint. However, Joseph and Jedidah's children do not show Seth. Instead I found him listed as son of George Luce (1731-1761) and Remember Merry (1733-1802). I'm confused, however, by the fact that his marriage in Tisbury on 01/18/1776 to Sarah Luce (1757-1825), according to this branch of the tree would indicate that he had married his sister!
If anyone can untangle this, please let me know!? Thanks!

Asa is in my family tree. Not sure if you have talked to my grandfather, Russ Luce, Jr. He has a very good bit of research and much info on Asa is in there. His email is luceruss@mkl.com, Im sure he could help you out and you may even have info that he is looking for.
Brian
