I am trying to find info on Richard Douglas "Dick" Luce (1862-1959). His first wife, Florence Crawford is my great grandmother's sister. His second wife was Louise Childers. He had several children with each of his wives. I am very interested in information and especially if anyone has any photos of this family.

I think from info you have given you are talking about one of my husband's great uncles. He and his second wife Louise are buried in Mt Hope Cemetery in Wells, Tx.
Dick's father was Hiram Luce b. abt 1835 in MO; his mother is Sarah Ann Murray b.abt 1846 in MS; d.11 Dec 1927 in Houston, TX.
They married about 1855.

Children of Hiram and Sarah are:

3. Richard Douglas "Uncle Dick" b. 22 Aug 1862; d. 14 Mar 1957
4. Acey b.abt 1866
5.Texana b. abt 1868; d. 14 Mar 1939

7. Jefferson b. Feb 1878
8. Crockett R. b. 30 Apr 18; d.10 Sep 1929
9. George b. 25 Nov 1882; d. 1 Nov 1953
10. Dock b. Aug 1884; d.abt 1947

This is what I have on the children of Richard "Dick" Luce but I don't know which wife was the mother of each one:

All the above info was taken from a genealogy done by someone in the family...I was given a copy 2 years ago.

I am not sure that I can locate a picture of Uncle Dick but I will see what I can do.

I also forgot to mention this...they have a Luce Reunion every September. This year it is the last Saturday of the month. It is always held in the old Luce Cemetary in Houston Co.
I will be taking some pictures of the old graves, and asking more questions when we go and will be happy to share what I learn and pictures too.
