My great-great grandmother was Johanna Lucas from Kilkenny. She married Michael Carroll. I'm not sure when they emigrated but she was born in the mid-1800s.
They ended up in Pittsburgh. Is Johanna perhaps related to the Lucas family in Kilkenny that you mentioned? Any info. would be greatly appreciated!
