Dear Genevieve: Thank you so much for your answer. I have found out a little more about Isadore. I should have known, but someone sent me his census record from 1910, and it was misspelled. Isadore came to Springfield, MO, where there were few Jews. The newspaper was not clear about his death. It was a very wierd time in Springfield history. The same day that Isadore died, the 16 month old son of a rich banker was kidnapped (later murdered)and there were other strange murders and suicides at about the same day. Isadore's death certificate does not explain things too well. In one corner are the words "A Jew" as if it was an afterthought. It said that he was buried in the local Jewish cemetery, but records do not show any documentation for the burial. It is very sad. It is difficult to know what actually happened. I hope that his family was able to bury him where they lived. I wondered if it was suicide because when he died he was in a boarding room house in a notoriously sleazy part of town. I wish that I knew what happened. What happened to Jews in Poland, was, of course, horrendous. Thank you so much for sharing with me. God Bless You. Brian
