Classification: Query
Surnames: Losaw, Lozaw, Thomas, Wilkinson
This William Losaw was b. in NJ or NY? between 1805-1810 per census info. He married in May, 1852 as (I believe) his second wife Marcia Maria (Thomas) Wilkinson, both of Litchfield Co., CT. Marcia had been married previously to Leonard L Wilkinson, had daughter Alice Jane Wilkinson by Leonard and then was divorced by August, 1851.

William and Marcia had a son Edward H Losaw b. Sept 1856. This family was found in Winchester, Litchfield Co., CT in 1860 census; in New Marlborough, Berkshire Co., MA in 1870 census; Stony Creek, Colusa Co., CA in 1880 census; and William is listed in the 1890 Great Register for Shasta Co., CA.

William Losaw was issued a patent for a homestead in 1880 in Shasta Co., CA.

It appears William d. in 1890-1891as Marcia had married her third husband by Sept, 1891 in Shasta Co., CA. No death record nor burial info has been found for William Losaw.

Son Edward is found in Chicago, IL in 1900 census with 1st wife Minnie E ? b. MI. Edward is on a homestead in Ward Co., ND between 1903 and 1906.. By 1910 census he is back in Shasta Co., CA with 2nd wife Rose ? b. MN and daughter Marcia Losaw b. abt 1905 in ND.

Edward died March, 1916 and is buried in the Anderson Cemetery, Shasta Co., CA. Nothing further is known of either of Edward's wives or of his daughter Marcia Losaw.

I would like to find William's ancestry but so far have had no luck.

There is a William Lozaw listed in the 1840 census for Fort Ann, Washington Co., NY who appears to be of the right age with 2 males and 1 female under 5 years and a female between 20 and 30 years old. I do not know if this is "my" William Losaw or not.

Can anyone help out?
