Seeking info on a Susannah Merrill who married Ebeneezer Darling (1790/5-13-1838 Additon VT.) In 1840 Susanna was still at that location per a Census as a widow with young "Darling" children. She married a second time to a neighbor, Wyant/Wnyent Lewis and they had a couple (? ) of sons; one was an infant William who died and I suspect another might have been named Lyman/Limon Darling born @ 1842-5. This family left with their own children by their second marriage and a couple of Ebeneezer's younger children (Erastus and Sarah Darling ) and made a home in the area of Wisconsin. Some of Susannah's older children also went along on the move: i.e. Loyal Darling, Nelson Darling, Nathan Darling - (Waters Nathan Darling?) and settled around Milwaukkee area AND the Bronwsvill, Jefferson area; These people are the basis for a very large group of Darlings in the Midwest. I have tracked down a great deal of info on the Darling and Tippery lines but I am still tryng to track down where this Merrill line comes from in Vermont. I even suspect that Susannah's maiden name MAY have been LOYAL; but I am not sure. One of the records I found show Ebennzer married to a Susannah LOYAL. Merrill may have been a first marriage? At any rate, do you have any help for me? Ebennezer and Susanna had a son Nelson Darling b 1825 in VT. who married a Nancy Roberts/Robis from England and moved to Wisconsin; Also anohter son Loyal who married a Betsy , Alanson, Joseph, Almond and daughter Caroline stayed in VT. etc who stayed behind in Vermont. If this sounds familiar, please get in touch! Thanks
