LANCASTER: Ramona Belle Bensonhaver Loy, left this life on Sunday January 13, 2012.
She had a wonderful soul and accepted everyone with kindness, a smile and laughter.
She lived her life without complaint and with patience. She was born on April 1, 1929 in Lancaster, Ohio to the late James and Virginia Bensonhaver.
Mom loved to be with family and friends.
She enjoyed music and played both the piano and organ; playing cards, bowling, swimming and traveling.
In addition to raising her children, she worked many years as a server and cook at Root's, Todd's, Trader's Café, Sneed's and Bibb's.
Ramona was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church and the Olivedale Senior Citizens.
She will be greatly missed by her daughters Diana (Dan) Allen, Sandy (Bruce) Baltzer, Karen Tiller, and Rita (Jim) Westhoven, and son Scott (Lisa) Loy; step-daughter Denise (Dave) Picirillo; sister in law Ginny Bensonhaver, her grandchildren Trina Hawley, Lisa Sowers, Fred Bollinger, Jeremiah, Zachery, and Albert Baltzer, Jennifer Duskey, Jamie and Jeremy Allen, Emily Wears, Melonie Westhoven, Jake and Travis Westhoven, and 27 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
Prededed in death in addition to her parents are her husband Eugene Loy, brother William Bensonhaver, sister Fern Bensonhaver, and long-time friend Leona Huston.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00PM Friday January 18, 2013 at the SHERIDAN FUNERAL HOME, Lancaster, Ohio. Interment will be in Betzer Cemetery, Carroll, Ohio. Visitation will be on Thursday January 17 from 4-8PM at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank the nurses and aides who gave mom loving care at The Main Street Terrace and The Inn at Fairfield Village.
