Does anybody have any information on John Lowther, born in Ireland around 1810 or 1812ish. He married Eliza, I don't have a maiden name for her. Eliza was born in Wexford, Ireland. They had 5 children, Samuel, Robert, Eliza, Richard and Edward. Samuel and Robert were Policemen in Ireland. Samuel was born in Limerick, Robert, Eliza and Richard were born in Carlow. Edward the youngest born in 1849 or 1850 was born in Dublin.

I have on 2 of their son's marriage banns as John Lowther was a "Gaol Governor" in Ireland, but on another marriage banns their son says John Lowther is a "Policeman". I cannot find anything for John on the Ireland website to confirm his occupation. Does anyone out there have any information, I would be so grateful. John Lowther was my great great grandfather, and I would love to know more about him.
