I have located information relating to my Great-great Grandfather, D. Lafayette Lorance, born 1852. He had several children, Elizabeth M. Lorance, Columbus Lorance, John Lorance, Nancy Lorance, and Daniel Lafayette (Fate) Lorance. He was married to a woman named Nancy (last name unknown). Internet records indicate D. Lafayette Lorance was born in Ireland. Family story tells of him operating a Government Funded Liquor Store in Lincoln County and then of him moving to Gaston County to work for Giles McAden in the mills as the supervisor of a wood cutting crew to maintain fuel for the boilers. Does anyone have any information relating to this?
