http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Galway/Kill...Here is the 1901 census return for the Luby/Looby household of Curraghaun, Tuam. Pat(rick) aged 15. My grandfather was 9 at the time of the 1901 census. I asked my father about Patrick Looby. He knows that he left, probably for America, and never contacted anyone at the home place again, to his knowledge. Two of his sisters became nuns. He knew that he had a brother John (never married) and Michael, who married a woman from Ahascragh, née Donnellan. They had children, one of whom became Mrs Shaughnessy of Cloonmore, Tuam and one who was Mrs Kelly of Bishop St, Tuam. Her son, Liam Kelly ( a stonecutter) is still there. If you need further information, you can contact my father through me.
