Since you haven't posted anything since 2003, I doubt this will reach you. But, ifit does, see Pauline Young's Abbeville, SC wills for John Read Long who d. Aug 1819. He had a deceased dau. (Lucy?) who m Robert (?) Swancy, who later appears in Lowndes Co.MS. deed records. John Read Long also had a son HARRISON Long who may also have left a will in SC.I'm not sure he married, but do look into Young's book as well as Abbeville deeds and estate sales records for earlier Longs. John Read Long has been documented as b. in St Mary's Co., MD. in 1754 to John and Barbara Read Long, who moved about 1771/2 to Culpeper Co. Va. where his brothers Reuben and perhaps Gabriel served in the Revolution.. Her father, John Read was a member of the Maryland legislature and. d in 1771, leaving a will.
