Any of you myriad Logan researchers ever come across Thomas Coatesworth Logan (or Coatesworth Thomas)? He supposedly was born about 1752, probably in Virginia. He is said to have moved to North Carolina about 1776 and died there in 1796. He supposedly married a woman whose surname was Mitchell, first name unknown. They are said to be the parents of the following children:
John Alexander Logan, born in 1775
William Mitchell Logan, born in 1777
Fanny Logan, born in 1778
Lawson Frank Logan, born in 1780.

The only one of the above I can substantiate is William Mitchell Logan. About 1805 he moved to Williamson County, TN. In 1798 in North Carolina he married Catherine Henderson, dau. of James and Violet (Lawson) Henderson (her brother was the father of James Pinckney Henderson, the 1st governor of Texas). Their son, William Mitchell Logan was born September 17, 1801 in NC. After the death of his parents he went to Liberty County, TX. He fought for Texas independence; raised a company of volunteers (3rd Co. of the Second Regiment of Texas volunteers). He fought in the battle of San Jacinto and died in Houston on November 22, 1839. I am tracing the line of one of his brothers, James Henderson Logan. Anyone tracing the lines of their siblings: Violet Berry/Barry Logan; Coatesworth Pinckney Logan; Robert Frank Logan; Mary Patterson Logan; Newton Wilson Logan (he went to the East Indies in 1833 or 1834 and was never heard of again.
