Our John H. Lock - Grimsby Dairy project is just beginning and I have not been able to find any record in << ancestry.com >> so far of John H. Lock's birth in England or of him and the family in the English censuses of 1871 and 1881. If your mother is his niece, that means that John H. had at least one brother or sister. Do you know the name of your mother's parent who is descended from the Lock family? If you have the name of one of John H.'s siblings, that name might help us to find John H. in the English census records in the years before he left for Canada. Is there any family record of where John H. landed in Canada, circa 1888, or where he lived before he went to Toronto to start his dairy business? Any fragment of information might help us.
