Our direct line is through William, son of Evan and Gwenlillian (Thomas) and through Daniel son of William. We know that Daniel married Mary Ann BADGER in St Tydfil Parish in Merthyr Tydfil, Glamorganshire, Wales. We can only assume that Daniel left Llansamlet and traveled to Methyr Tydfil to find work in the coal mines. We can guess that he met his future wife while working in Merthyr Tydfil. It was the custom in Wales to marry in the Parish of the future wife. Daniel and Mary returned to Llansamet shortly after their marriage because the christening records for their children are located at the Llansamet, except one, and that is for Walter who was christened at Llangyfefach Parish (Bethel Calvainstic Church) a short distant away. It is proable that Daniel and Mary left port at Swansea to sail to America around 1850. No documentation has been found for this couple after the christening record, for their son Evan in 1825 Wales, Until they appear on the census records 1870 Macon Co. Missouri.
Daniel and Mary disappear again after 1870. The family Lore varys, they joined the Morman's and moved to Utah, they moved to Kansas or they moved back to Alton, Illnois. Research has not found anything to prove or disprove any of these leads.
