Hey Felicia, This is your uncle form California. just some info on our last name. As you know, my father was Matilde and his father was Victorio Llanes. His wife was Maria Pena. Victorio's original last name was Mendoza. According to my dad, he was raised with a family named Llamas. I don't know the circumstances. He wanted to take that family name but did like it because "llamas" in spanish is the verb "calling" like calling someone. He felt that he would be teased and decided to change the "m" to "n" and "a" to "e" and play off the Spanish surname "Yanez." This has caused great confusion since with mispronounciations from Spanish speakers and non-Spanish speakers. Just wanted to pass that info on. Love, Tio David, not to be confused with your brother.
