I am researching the Lis family of Zerniki and Lukowo in Oborniki county, Poznan, Poland.

My gggg-grandmother Karolina Lis was born in Zerniki on Oct. 30, 1841 to Marcin Lis and Zofia Napierala (or Napieralo). She was one of seven children. Her siblings were Walenty, Florentina, Jozefa, Klara, Katarzyna and Wojciech (Adalbert/Albert).

Karolina's father Marcin Lis was born about 1794 to Jakub Lis (who died 1834 in Golaszyn) and Marianna Witasiak. He had three sisters (Anna Glabes, Agnieszka Pizta, and Katarzyna Nowacki) and a brother Wojciech Lis (Adalbert/Albert) born about 1780.

Most Lis's in Zerniki/Lukowo are descended of Wojciech, born about 1780, who married Franciszka Kowalczinka(?). They had five children, Jozef, Michal, Agnieszka, Jan and Bartlomiej. I presume that the family also extended to America over time.

Marcin Lis's daughter Florentina married Jozef Janiszewski. His son Walenty Lis married Maryanna Blinkiewicz. His daughter Karolina married Michal Borucki in Lukowo in 1860 and they had my ancestor Marianna Borucka in 1873, who immigrated to Buffalo, NY. Marianna married Jan Koscielniak and had eight children, including my great-grandmother's mother Stanislawa Koscielniak in 1890.

I am looking for any information on this extended family. I am particularly curious of relatives in the United States.
